Parents play a huge role in supporting student-athletes, especially during college recruiting. Many parents want to be involved early, but aren’t sure whether they should make their own account or help their athlete use theirs.

Right now, the easiest and most helpful thing is to sign in together using the Athlete account.

Why Athlete, not Parent (for now)

At this stage, most tools and information are designed for the athlete experience:

  • searching colleges

  • discovering coach contacts

  • understanding options

  • starting communication

Parents can absolutely help with decision-making, research, and planning, but the actual interface is built around the athlete’s view at the moment.

So how do parents actually help? 🤝

Here’s how parents naturally fit into the early process:

  • exploring schools together

  • asking questions about scholarships

  • reading messages from coaches

  • helping evaluate academic fit

  • helping choose which schools to contact

You don’t have to be a sports expert, but just being involved already helps your athlete feel more confident.

Should parents make separate accounts?

You can, but it’s not necessary yet.

The parent experience is expanding soon, but today it’s easier to use the platform together on one device or login.

Once parent accounts have dedicated features, you’ll be able to set one up easily without repeating the signup process.

What about safety and communication?

All communication stays visible inside the platform and nothing is ever hidden from you. That makes it easier for parents to be involved, review messages, and support decisions without needing a separate dashboard.

What if my athlete is very young?

If your athlete is under 16, we recommend parents read messages and manage outreach together. For many families, this becomes a shared process rather than something the athlete must navigate alone.

Quick takeaway ✨

You can absolutely be involved today and help your athlete use their account, staying a part of the process as things unfold.

A dedicated parent experience is coming soon, and it will connect directly to your athlete’s journey.
